Creative Development - Moodboard

For my mood board I decided to look at the different trends and colours that came off the runway. I want my ideas to obviously stick to the trend at the time of the images being taken, the colours that are mostly used are blacks, golds and reds which you can see a lot of in the bottom right corner image, these maybe the colours that I end up choosing to use when it comes to shooting. Another big trend was the 60's patterns coming back, some designs had the patterns on the skirts and clearly show they were inspired by the 60's when designing.

  • Red
  • Pales
  • Gold
  • Black
  • Blue
  • Prints (60's)

Creative Development - 5 Events That Has Influenced A Fashion Trend

I have decided to point out 5 events from the 60's which have helped influenced a fashion trend at the time.

  1. The Beatles -
When The Beatles became quite a success and became a sensation, they became an influence on the fashion at the time. They had influenced the young men's fashion sense and also the hairstyles as well. The mop top was a popular haircut to have at the time and also the "Beatle boots" was created.
The "Beatle boot" was a tight fittig ankle high boot, with The Beatles wearing these, this brought back the high heeled footwear for men.

2.  The Hippie Movement -
The Hippie Movement which happened in the middle of the decade became a strong influence on clothing styles. The tie dye on fabrics which created a mixture of bright colours was a popular choice with clothing, also paisley print was quite common. Hippies brought in the bell bottom jeans, which were fashionable for both men and women at the time.

3. The Miniskirt -
In the late 1960's the miniskirt was seen as a controversial item that had been created, women used to be well covered up with what they would wear out in public,so you can understand why this became a shock to some people. It was seen as a "youthful protest of international threats to peace". The model at the time Jean Shrimpton also helped the trend set off when, she was seen wearing it at the Melbourne, Australia Victoria Derby, this caused a stir in the media and also the community.

4. The Bikini -
The bikini came into fashion in 1963 after being featured in the film "Beach Party". It became popular when "The Bond" girl at the time Ursula Andress was seen wearing a white one and emerging from the sea after this they became quite popular. In 1962, Playboy featured a bikini on its cover for the first time.

5. Hairstyles -
Hairstyles from bother genders had changed and kept changing throughout the decade. The women had "beehive hairdos", "the birds nest". Short hairstyles became popular when model Twiggy was sporting a pixie cut at the time, this influenced women to cut their hair shorter. For the men, the styles were "the flatop", "the mop top" and the short, parted hair.

Creative Development - Attitudes And Ideals That Have Led To Trends InFashion

GAttitudes in fashion have all led to different trends being created, some of these trends can be seen in the clothes, but also in the type of model that the designers book to wear their designs. Instead of the models being stick thin and not much else to them, designers are starting to go for more quirky looking models. An example would be Cara Delevingue, with her thick eyebrows, or Georgia Jagger's gap in her teeth. These examples show how some of the attitudes and ideals have changed and started a new trend in the fashion world.

60's
The 60's are also show the time that attitudes have changed in the fashion world. The creation that is called a mini skirt changed how women dressed, women would wear long dresses and skirts that would cover up their legs, but this all changed when model Jean Shrimpton created a stir when seen wearing a short dress at the races. The media saw this as a "youth rebellion".

Designers And Consumers
Attitudes towards designers and what materials they use to create their clothing, they have been made to become more sustainable in what they use. The consumers on the other hand like to know what is being used to create their clothes and also how the clothing is produced. They tend to keep an eye on what they are spending which in its self shows how attitudes have changed.

Creative Development - Technology!

For this first week of the course we were given a word, the word that we were given was "Technology" and with this word we had to create a mind map on what we think technology is to us, and also conduct a photo-shoot.

I firstly started by creating a mood board of what designers and fashion photographers thought of technology and how they showed this in their images. This is the mood board that created and on it I have shown different uses of technology.

However, to me, when I think of technology I always think of our generation always are on their phones or on some sort of technology.
